Privacy Policy
The Local Link is built on discretion. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your information.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account or make a request, we collect the information you provide directly — including your name, email address, phone number, billing details and any service-specific notes (e.g. allergies, preferred restaurants, pickup addresses).
We also collect limited technical information automatically — IP address, device type and pages visited — for security and analytics.
2. How we use it
- To fulfill the services you request and communicate about them.
- To process payments via our payment provider (Stripe).
- To send confirmations, reminders and concierge updates by email and SMS.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the partners required to complete your specific request (for example, a restaurant for a reservation, a driver for a Cybercab pickup) and with our service providers (Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email, Google for authentication).
We never sell your data and we never share it for third-party marketing.
4. Confidentiality
All concierge staff sign non-disclosure agreements as a condition of employment. Records of your requests are accessible only to the team members handling them and to designated administrators.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and booking records for as long as your account is active and for up to seven (7) years after closure to satisfy tax, accounting and legal requirements. You may request earlier deletion subject to those obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (California, EU/UK and other regions), you may have the right to access, correct, port, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Email concierge@thelocallink.la with the subject "Privacy Request" and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies strictly necessary for authentication and session management. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If that changes, we will request your consent first.
8. Children
The Local Link is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active members at least 14 days before they take effect.
